Meet Matthew.

Matthew L. Owitz is an AEA Stage Manager with a background in theatre and production. Growing up surrounded by the arts in northern New Jersey, he shifted his focus from performing to tech in college, finding a passion in stage management.

After graduating from Dean College in 2021, Matthew worked with Cedar Fair Parks and Entertainment as Production Stage Manager for Grand Carnivale at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom, Entertainment Production Manager for Norwegian Cruise Line, relaunching the Norwegian Sun in 2022, and several theaters, including a Stage Management Internship at Florida Studio Theatre and a Stage Management Apprenticeship at the Walnut Street Theatre.

Matthew spent the late spring at Act II Playhouse in Ambler, PA as their Production Stage Manager for Forever Plaid. Then freelanced as a Shoreside Stage Manager for Royal Caribbean Entertainment in Miami, Florida over the summer. Matthew was recently the Stage Manager at The Polar Express Train Ride in Whippany, NJ, which is produced by Rail Events Productions & Warner Brothers. He is currently the Production Stage Manager at Act II Playhouse in Ambler, PA for the final three shows in their 2024-2025 Season: Grace and Glorie, Dial M. For Murder, and A Grand Night for Singing.

Matthew aspires to educate and inspire the next generation of theatre professionals, leveraging his extensive experience and industry connections.
